Free tools for YouTube and LinkedIn creators
Every tool on this page is free, runs in the browser, and needs no account. They all share one idea: a video is only interesting when it beats the channel's own average views, not when it beats the internet. Start with a scan, then compare yourself to a channel you admire.
All five free tools
Outlier Scan
Paste any YouTube channel and see which of its videos beat that channel's own average views, and by how much. Results in seconds.
Best for: Creators auditing their own back catalogue, or studying a channel they admire.
Compare your channel
Two inputs: your channel and one you admire. We read their hardest-breaking video, name the pattern behind it, and show how often that pattern repeats in your niche.
Best for: Creators who know who they want to learn from, but not what to copy.
Recently scanned channels
A public directory of recent scans, each showing that channel's outliers and multipliers against its own baseline.
Best for: Anyone who wants examples before scanning their own channel.
Outliers by niche
Niche feeds of scored outlier videos — fitness, finance and more — pooled from every scan we've stored.
Best for: Creators researching a niche before committing a filming day to it.
Creator metrics glossary
Plain-language definitions for outlier score, median vs average views, packaging, retention and the rest.
Best for: Anyone new to outlier-based research.
Which free tool should you use?
| What you're asking | Use this |
|---|---|
| “Is my own channel underperforming?” | Outlier Scan |
| “Why did their video blow up and mine didn't?” | Compare your channel |
| “Show me examples before I try it.” | Recently scanned channels |
| “What's working in my niche right now?” | Outliers by niche |
| “What does outlier score even mean?” | Creator metrics glossary |
How the scoring works
Each video is compared to the median views of that channel's recent uploads. A video with 4x its channel's median is an outlier at 4x, whether the channel has 2,000 subscribers or two million. That's why a small channel can outrank a big one here: the baseline is always the channel itself.
The free tools tell you what worked. Outlieo writes the next one.
Turn any outlier into a script in your voice and a scheduled LinkedIn week.
